GUIDELINES

Linguaphobous is always on the lookout for spectacularly-written speculative fiction, critical and literary fantasy, experimental science fiction, speculative poetry, and other works that are often difficult to categorize.

Lingua is seeking:
Prose (under 2500 words)
Poetry
Flash fiction
Graphic novel excerpts
Comics
Visual art (either speculative-themed, or mathematically-based art will be considered)

We aim to bring you the best in forward-thinking fiction and art. If you are a forward-thinking fiction writer or artist, please consider contributing.

Stories lacking a plot, pseudocode, utter nonsense, and other experimental work that falls into our genre requirements will also be considered.

Please try to keep your fiction under 2500 words.

Works of art set to background will be stretched to the appropriate size. Embedded images will be scaled to fit the width of the page.

HOW TO SUBMIT

Mail a .rtf (rich text format) to editor@lingua.phobo.us. You will hear back about our decision ... eventually. (Normally a few weeks; we are working on speeding up the process!)

PAYSCALE

Lingua does not currently offer payment in USD. We feel it would currently be more of an insult to offer you what we could afford (around $5) given that art is not something for which people should receive tip money. The editor is not convinced that the gesture is substantial enough to entice talented people towards us. Contributors will be given any copies of future printed anthologies.
